Step-by-Step Setup Guide

  1. Connect Your Device

Plug your Trezor device into your computer using the provided USB cable. The device will power on automatically and display the Trezor logo.

  2. Install Trezor Bridge

Visit trezor.io/start and follow the prompts to install Trezor Bridge, the communication software that allows your browser to interact with the hardware wallet securely.

  3. Create New Wallet

Choose "Create new wallet" on the setup screen. Your Trezor will generate a unique recovery seed - the most critical component of your wallet's security.

  4. Backup Recovery Seed

Write down the 12, 18, or 24-word recovery seed in the exact order shown on your device. Store this in a secure location, never digitally.

  5. Confirm Recovery Seed

Verify your backup by correctly selecting the words in the order they appeared. This ensures you have properly recorded your recovery seed.

  6. Set PIN Protection

Create a PIN code to prevent unauthorized physical access to your device. The PIN matrix appears randomly on your Trezor screen for enhanced security.

  7. Name Your Device

Give your Trezor a recognizable name to distinguish it if you own multiple devices or for identification purposes.

  8. Install Firmware

The latest firmware will be installed automatically, providing security updates and new features for your device.
